Aggregate ABI Examination Statistics
ABI compares the higher ankle systolic pressure with the higher arm systolic pressure. It is measured with cuffs on both arms and ankles, without injection or contrast material.
What ABI measures
ABI = ankle systolic pressure ÷ arm systolic pressure. Lower values may suggest reduced blood flow to the leg; values above 1.40 can occur when arteries are difficult to compress. A result must be interpreted with symptoms and other testing.
